What Makes Us Different?
Survivors and individuals in recovery frequently face immediate safety risks, housing instability, and financial insecurity. People living with MS may experience episodic mobility limitations and employment interruptions, compounding stress. Without coordinated rapid assistance—safe lodging, basic needs support, and financial guidance—crises escalate and long-term recovery stalls. PIE Inc. closes this gap by pairing emergency relief with empowerment services and peer/community support.
Our Story
Prevention Intervention Empowerment Inc. (PIE Inc.) was founded by Fatimah N. Tedford, a domestic violence survivor and disabled veteran living with Multiple Sclerosis. After overcoming her own challenges, Fatimah committed herself to helping others move from surviving to thriving—the very journey she experienced in her own life.
At PIE Inc., we believe that meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of individuals fosters resilience and hope. We understand that cycles of hopelessness often persist due to a lack of resources and support. That’s why our mission goes beyond emergency assistance—we provide ongoing support until survivors are thriving in every aspect of life.
Our programs include:
-
Emergency Care & Stabilization for individuals in crisis.
-
Safe Fellowship Opportunities to build community among survivors and supporters.
-
Violence & Abuse Prevention through educational workshops and youth empowerment events.
-
Healthy Relationship Coaching for teens and young adults.
-
Counseling Services for those in need of emotional and mental health support.
The best part? All of our services are completely free for our clients. Your donations and membership dues make this possible, ensuring that we can continue to provide life-changing resources and create a safe, supportive community.
